Ethics & Integrity

Power Associates Limited is committed to conducting all business with honesty, transparency, and an unwavering zero-tolerance stance on bribery and corruption.

Our commitment is absolute: We conduct every project, contract, and relationship with full integrity — compliant with the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act, 2007 and all applicable laws across every jurisdiction in which we operate.

Four Pillars of Ethical Business

Zero Tolerance

We do not offer, pay, accept, or facilitate bribes or corrupt payments in any form — regardless of jurisdiction, transaction size, or business pressure.

Transparency

All financial records are accurate, complete, and retained. We maintain no off-book accounts, false invoices, or undocumented transactions.

Accountability

Every employee, partner, consultant, and contractor is bound by this policy as a condition of their engagement with Power Associates Limited.

Protection

Anyone who reports suspected misconduct in good faith is fully protected from retaliation under our Whistleblower Policy.

A Zero-Tolerance Approach to Corruption

Power Associates Limited's Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy formally governs all conduct in line with the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act, 2007 (Tanzania) and applicable international standards. The Compliance Officer is the Director of the Firm.

What We Prohibit

  • Offering or accepting payments, gifts, or hospitality to gain business advantage
  • Facilitation payments to expedite routine government procedures
  • Kickbacks channelled through contracts or intermediaries
  • Extortion — demanding or accepting any form of bribe
  • Retaliation against individuals who report concerns
  • Any activity that creates a conflict of interest or breaches this policy
02

Gifts & Hospitality

Normal and appropriate hospitality is permitted only in line with our Gifts & Hospitality Policy. All gifts must be:

  • Modest in value and given openly — not in cash or cash equivalents
  • Recorded in the company Gift Register at the time of giving or receiving
  • Approved in advance where required by the Compliance Officer
  • Never offered to or received from public officials without prior clearance
03

Red Flags

All staff must be alert to warning signs of potential corruption, including:

  • Agents or partners with poor reputations or unexplained government ties
  • Unusually large commissions or fees with no clear justification
  • Requests for cash payments without proper documentation
  • Offshore accounts or unexplained preferences for specific subcontractors
  • Pressure to bypass normal procurement or approval procedures
04

Record Keeping

Power Associates Limited maintains rigorous financial controls:

  • All financial records are accurate, complete, and retained for a minimum of 6 years
  • No off-book accounts, false entries, or misleading invoices are permitted
  • All gifts, hospitality, and political or charitable donations must be approved and recorded
  • Third-party payments must be legitimate, proportionate, and fully documented
05

Third Parties & Supply Chain

Our ethical standards extend beyond our own employees:

  • All subsidiaries, agents, contractors, and suppliers must comply with this policy
  • Due diligence is conducted on third parties before engagement
  • Compensation to agents and intermediaries must be legitimate and proportionate
  • Breaches by third parties may result in immediate termination of the relationship
06

Annual Risk Assessments

We conduct structured annual reviews covering:

  • Country risk — jurisdictions in which we operate or procure
  • Transactional risk — high-value or complex procurement processes
  • Business opportunity risk — new partnerships and client relationships
  • Partnership risk — agents, joint ventures, and subcontractors

Speak Up — You Are Protected

Any employee, contractor, or associate who suspects a breach of this policy is strongly encouraged to report it. All reports made in good faith are treated with strict confidentiality and reporters are fully protected from retaliation under our Whistleblower Policy.
